ABOUT ME
Arnold Garcia aka Arnold G - Is a International recording artist, singer, songwriter, dancer, performer, model, producer, and recording artist; founder of Shine On Hollywood Magazine & Entertainment, A&G Records Music, and A&G Productions. Successful businessman in various industries including 46 years in the entertainment industry, 7.5 years as a psych technician in a mental health hospital, and 27 years in the computer industry, culminating in running his own computer company, Microflex Technology, successfully in the 90s. He was born in the Philippines and raised primarily in Camarillo, California. This is where dancing and singing got its’ foothold into Arnold G’s heart. This passion came naturally as his father was a dancer and his mother was a singer, he learned that music could take him anywhere he wanted to go, especially when he became homeless at thirteen. At this vulnerable young age, Arnold G decided he would not let his circumstances determine his fate. He continued to go to school, while delivering papers and fixing electronics, to have enough money for food and clothing so he wouldn't be bullied.
While in high school, no one knew of Arnold G’s situation, because he continued as if nothing was wrong, by joining sports and the school choir. As Arnold G became more involved with a winning choir, he would sing and dance at the school performances of Camarillo High School's "The Entertainers" in the 70s, similar to GLEE Club that spawned the popular TV show by the same name, earning him the title, “Dr. Dancer!”
After high school, Arnold G modeled for a while and became a professional dancer for major showbiz icons in the music industry, but even that didn’t seem to quench Arnold G’s thirst for life and music. He then began singing after his mother passed away. Arnold G started taking voice lessons and singing at Karaoke bars to build his confidence. Seemingly overnight, he started to win singing contests and sometimes, the audience members would pay him to sing special songs.
Once Arnold G saw that music was his destiny, he created and released his first CD in 2006 “Driven: Straight To The Dance Floor” and began performing with professional dancers. Arnold G became the First Male Madonna, owning the stage and his audiences, as he toured all over Eastern Europe, Canada, and the US, including shows at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, The White Party in Palm Springs, and in Prague, among others. His futuristic nature; his sense of entertainment; and his exotic looks are taking him to places he has never been before.
On top of all that, Arnold G wants to help other artists make it in the industry, so he developed “BringItOn” and “ShineOn.” These live and soon-to-be televised shows let artists perform and compete for the opportunity to be mentored by a major recording artist and eventually, the winner will be awarded a recording contract with a major record label.
Arnold G will tell you that his devotion to music extends far beyond musical fandom or career considerations. “It’s not just a love for music, it’s a passion and it goes further than love and far beyond a hobby.” For Arnold G, music is a lifestyle, a deeply rooted passion that drives him from the inner core of his being. “It’s about a way of living. Music is essential to my life.” It’s this quality that imbues Arnold G’s music with such crackling hooks. So deep is Arnold G’s passion for his music that he goes beyond considerations for mere entertainment.
Arnold G also sees music as a tool for social change. On his debut, “Driven: Straight To The Dance Floor”, for example, Arnold G includes a pop track, “Carry On”, which tackles the difficult issue of AIDS. For this performer, music can not only add enjoyment to people’s lives but can draw those lives together into a place of unity. Arnold G is so passionate about making a difference through music and creating awareness, that he has become an activist, that not only helps other artists, but his "Hearts and Minds" project explains how he helps people who struggle with health issues; mental, physical, or emotional. That’s why he wrote songs like “Carry On” for people living with AIDS and cancer. He also wrote “I’m Free” to help people let go of past trauma so they can move forward in life without the emotional baggage from past life challenges. “Angel Eyes” is another song that he wrote as he saw how Meth and other drugs took over and destroyed people’s lives. His current cover single release "Dreams", written by singer Stevie Nicks, uses American Sign Language (ASL) to help bring a voice and awareness to the blind and deaf community.
But Arnold G’s giving doesn’t stop there; he also has a soft spot in his heart for children, as he knows that positive, sustainable change in this world starts with the younger generations. That is how the show “Madam” became the talk of the evening at The International Family Film Festival Awards ceremony. Arnold G put together this dramatic performance for a non-profit organization called Fresh Films and was a key factor in raising awareness and money for the after-school program, which teaches children how to become filmmakers.
Always a creative force, Arnold G is embarking on new projects in creating music and positively contributing to society in some big fashion. Stay tuned for his Next Big Thing! Keep an eye on Arnold G as he is worthy of your time and attention.
